GardaWorld’s Jim McIntosh, currently assigned to the Lafarge project in Nigeria took part in a local charity fundraiser on June 6th to raise money for a local medical facility nearby. GardaWorld team members were encouraged by the H&S department at Lafarge to join as part of their safety month to walk or run one lap of a 3.4 km (2.1 mi) course. For every lap completed AshakaCem would donate 1000 Naira ($5) to the medical facility.

Jim was one of only three expats that took on the challenge with very little notice and ran a total of 13.5 km (8.4 mi) before it became too hot to complete any more laps. There were approximately 40 other team members who walked the route.
