Road Flagging: An Essential Component of Construction Site Safety

February 15, 2018

At one moment or another, we have all come across a construction site. Bright orange cones and large trucks probably come top of mind, but what about flag people?

Flag person, Rose-Marie St-Louis, tells us, "It is an essential job on construction sites to ensure the safety of both workers and citizens.” This job is ideal for people interested in seasonal, on-call employment and for those who don’t mind working outdoors, whether it rains or shines.

To become a flag person, one must undergo online training supervised by the Association Québécoise des Transports (AQTr). Although the course is available to the public at a cost of $250, applicants selected by GardaWorld can take the course free of charge at the Career Development Centre (CDC). Once the exam has been successfully completed, candidates are certified and automatically hired, so spread the word with those who may be interested in this potential job opportunity.

If you are interested in a career in security, visit our careers site to explore our job openings and career opportunities. We are currently hiring road flaggers in both the Montreal and Quebec City regions; apply now.
